Duplicates search
Search for duplicate references and where they are located, allow easy workflow to eliminate extra copy/copies. Can items be copied/cloned over multiple folders? More sort/filter options in Reference Manager - it does not put my list in alphabetical order so that makes it harder to see duplicates (no way to get those listings side by side unless maybe i review them in lit review table instead?) I’m still learning the tool, open to learn there are other ways to do the things I’m providing feedback on.

REQ. BYOK - OpenAI Compatible Endpoint 🧩🔑
BYOK is a very frequent feature request since last year. To help reduce the development effort and compatibility issues, I would like to request to add BYOK feature using OpenAI-Compatible Endpoints by setting Base URL and API key. A good example of such feature integration is Triplo AI https://documentation.triplo.ai/using-triplo-ai/connections-openai-compatible-endpoints Please notice that all major API Providers (even Google AI Studio) have OpenAI Compatible endpoints available.

Citation Graph (Research Maps)
Citation Graph helps you visually explore how research papers are connected through citations. Starting from any paper, you can see which works it builds on and which later papers cite it, revealing influential studies, key research paths, and emerging directions in a field. Instead of scanning long reference lists, you get an interactive map of related papers that you can expand, filter, and add to your library. This makes it easier to discover foundational research, understand how ideas evolved, and identify the most relevant papers for your topic.

Notes Taking
A dedicated notes product inside Paperguide to collect, organize, and reuse research insights—with citations preserved—across all workflows. A single place to create and manage notes independent of Chat with PDF, AI Search, or Literature Review—while still connecting to them. Send snippets, answers, highlights, and table rows into Notes from any Paperguide surface. Citations are attached automatically (paper + source context). Freeform notes, bullet points, checklists, and structured blocks (Claim / Evidence / Implication). Mix quick thoughts with rigorous evidence. Save citation-backed snippets as cards you can drag into drafts, extraction tables, or review sections—without losing attribution. Select notes (or a notebook) as context for agents: Literature Review, Draft Writing, Gap Analysis, or Question Refinement—so agents work from your curated insights.

PDF Extraction Improvements
We’re improving how Paperguide extracts text, tables, and figures from PDFs—especially messy layouts (multi-column pages, scanned docs, dense tables, and image-heavy papers). These upgrades feed directly into everything downstream, so you’ll see: Better answers in Chat with PDF (cleaner grounding + fewer missed sections) More reliable inputs for Literature Reviews (less noise, stronger evidence capture) Higher-quality extracted tables/data (cleaner rows/columns, fewer broken headers) More accurate outputs across all agent workflows that depend on PDF understanding (screening, extraction, synthesis, citations) In short: cleaner extraction → stronger evidence → better, more consistent AI results.

Literature Review Agent
We’ve added a new Literature Review Agent to help you turn a research question into a traceable, structured review—without juggling dozens of tabs. How it works Start from our full database (~200M papers) or use your reference manager as the input set. The agent creates a step-by-step plan, then helps you find relevant papers, screen them, and extract key details before drafting the review. What you get A structured literature review with citations so you can verify claims quickly The candidate/selected papers list Screening outcomes (what was included/excluded and why) Extracted data (so you can reuse it for tables, analysis, or writing) Use it for quick overviews or deeper dives—especially when you want the workflow and evidence in one place.
